William Sandy

William Sandy was bornaround 1944 in Ernabella, South Australia. He lived in Areyonga and Haasts Bluff.

William Sandy moved to Papunya from 1973. He is married to Violet Nakamarra, the sister of famous Michael Nelson Jakamarra.

William Sandy is one of the very knowledgeable men in traditional aboriginal medicine.

He has been painting since 1970. His paintings depict women, dingo, green been and emu dreamings.
