Anna Price Pitjara (Petyarre)
Anna Pitjara also known as Anna Price Petyarre was born around 1965 in Utopia, Northern Territory. She has painted since early 1980 on canvas as well as Aboriginal traditional utensils such as coolamons.
Her mother was the late artist Glory Ngale she is also related to Emily Kame Kngwarreye and Kudditji Kngwarreye through her grandfather. Anna and her husband Colin live at Utopia and have 3 children 5 grand children.
Anna Price Pitjara paints Yam Seed, Yam Flower (her grandfather’s dreaming), Awelye- ceremonial Body Paint and Women’s Ceremony. She also paints bodies of dancers for traditional ceremonies.
